The Author Behind the Series

Danny Krebs writes children’s books, and honestly, his favorite part is watching young readers finish one with a smile still on their face. A lot of his ideas come from real dogs he has known and from his time teaching through the University of California, Irvine Young Writers Program.

His stories stay on purpose. Full of friendship. Kindness. Courage. Danny has always believed kids don’t need a big hero or a complicated plot to enjoy a good story. Sometimes all it takes is a small adventure and a friend who cares. That’s really what he hopes for. That’s why every Milo and Sandy book feels like one worth picking up again.

The Story Behind Milo and Sandy

Milo and Sandy didn’t start out as characters in a book. They started out as real dogs, the ones who filled Danny’s life with love and more than a few laughs. Over time, their little quirks and everyday moments turned into the characters children now love to read about, along with their friends Oscar, Kevin and Wally.

Vision Behind Writing

Danny’s goal isn’t to fill every page with lessons. First, he wants children to simply enjoy the adventure. If they happen to take something good from the story too, that’s even better.

Every Milo and Sandy story gently encourages children to:

Be kind to others.
Help a friend when they can.
Be brave enough to try something new.
Work together as a team.
Believe that even small actions can make a difference.
